In my Raindrop classes we discuss about all the different ways you can heat up the water for the moist heat pack.

Here are the common ways people heat up the water for the moist heat pack at the end of a Raindrop session.

You’re choice depends on how often you give Raindrop, how much space you have and how much money you want to spend.

A. Sink

One of the easiest and most inexpensive way you can go, is by simply using the hot water that comes out of your kitchen or sink faucet. No extra tools or expenses are needed.

This is a great option for the Raindropper who does not give Raindrop often, who doesn’t have the extra room for the options mentioned below, usually gives Raindrop to young kids or who has a good hot water heater that makes the towels nice and hot!

If you have the room and you find that the water coming out of your faucets are just not hot enough for you, then you may want to consider some of the other options.

B. Electric Kettle

This tool is one of the most inexpensive. I find that they heat up the water quickly. They are small and easy to store, you just might decide to use it for more than Raindrops!

I have not found that the temperature adjustment works with these and the temperature tends to just be HOT. You’ll feel the temperature of the towel as you squeeze out the towel, so you’ll know! It is a good idea to allow that towel to cool down before putting it on your Receiver’s back.

Kettles can also be a bit on the noisy side as you’ll hear the water boiling inside. Some people don’t like that extra noise. I’ve had clients that thought I had sound machine on when I heated up my kettle in my massage room and they enjoyed it.

C. Crock Pot

Crock pots are a bit more expensive then a kettle, but you might have one collecting dust in your kitchen right now! This is a great reason to dust it off and put it to work.

Crock pots tend to heat up the water and towel slowly, so you need some lead time before getting things ready to when you’ll need it.

The temperature controls work well. It may take some playing with to get a temperature that is comfortable for your clients.

D. Towel cabinet

This was a big splurge for me a few years ago. They are on the pricey side, but they do such a good job at getting those towels heated up with little fuss on your end.

All you do is roll up your towels, get them wet, stick them in the cabinet and press the on button. In 30 minutes you have a hot moist towel that is the perfect temperature for putting on a Receiver’s back.

It is a quiet tool, and they come in different sizes to fit your needs. You just need to find the space to put it.

I don’t recommend this for people who do Raindrop every once and a while for their family. Those that do Raindrop on the regular, will appreciate a towel cabinet or a towel steamer.

E. Towel Steamer

I have not used a towel steamer before, but my friend has and simply loves it!

It sounds like it has all the benefits as a towel cabinet; works quickly, consistent temp, easy to use and comes in different sizes.

Towel steamers seem like a tool that would be good for the professional who does Raindrops often, or would have more reasons to use moist hot towels in their wellness practice throughout their work day.
